Elgin Timer - Vintage WW2 Stopwatch / Military Timer
Check out this great military timer on ebay
Item number 230539515775 auction ends 24th October at 6.18 pm This looks like pocket watch but has only one hand which sweeps round once every 60 seconds. The other smaller dial moves at intervals that can be set. This was used for military excercises to time the distance between firing, eg for mortars or cannons. Great little collectors item, not worth a fortune but they are getting harder to find these days and tend to appeal more to militaria collectors rather than vintage pocket watch collectors. Probably worth about £20-40, but a good one can sell for over £100 but the glass is missing on this one. |

Yes, I agree ..and think this will almost certainly sell to a miltary collector, and not really a fav of watch collectors, and shame it has no name or numbers on the back as the ones that sell well have engravings on of either a name eg Seargent Jones,, or a regiment etc..

Well, it sold for £27 in the end, which is not a lot considering the history,,,, but yep shame it didnt have any engraving
