What answer would you have given?

My 10-year old nephew asked his mum what the interior of a watch is composed of and she really tried to think of a good answer to give.

I am placing myself in her shoes then it occurs to me I wouldn't have given a better answer.

It is not an easy question but you just tell the kid that you really don't know what it is. You can tell him that you will research about it yet and then give him the answer when you already know what the interior is made of. You can both research it together so it will more fun for him.

That should be easy enough to answer. You can tell him that is a lot of small pieces that are carefully put together. It all moves together as time moves.
