What about Switzerland?

What is so unique about this country and the fact that a majority of good watch companies are Swiss in origin?

Is it the case that the first ever manufacturers hailed from Switzerland and with time this art became popular?

I would love to visit the country in general but then again I still love to travel when I get a few days spare that I can actually travel with. Work has kept me pretty busy lately. If I could find a way to get over there maybe during a celebration that would just be a blessing.

I'm not too sure why Switzerland has a lot of watch makers. From what I read in this forum, Swiss made watches are of best quality. The Swiss watchmakers might not be the first people who invent the watch but I'm pretty sure they were the first to make great quality watches.

I think it has something to do with the relaxed tone the entire country has. Look at other places and you see uptight and upset people, you really think those are going to be good at such an intricate job?

I'm sure it's just that they decided to setup there more than anything to do with the country

Somehow, just thinking about a Swiss watch maker makes you think of someone sitting patiently at a table, with all of the time in the world on their hands. Maybe that is the allure of it all.
