Keeping or Wearing a Vintage Watch
If ever you possess a very exquisite vintage watch that collectors would like to have, are you going to wear it or will you keep it so it won't be subjected to wear and tear?

RE: Keeping or Wearing a Vintage Watch
I would only have a watch that I could wear, I do not think I could keep a watch in a case. I would just be too tempted to wear it. If a watch is very special, or historical, it belongs in a museum.

You are absolutely correct that watches with historical backgrounds should be in a museum for everyone to see. I also would wear a vintage watch and much more if it has a sentimental value.

Yeah, if I had a watch that was worth something, I'd probably sell it to someone who wants to keep it. Wearing it adds sentimental value, if nothing else.

I would want to wear it but what if it was snatched or fell off my wrist? It makes sense to get a vintage watch and there is a lot more sense to make sure it stays with you for a long time.

RE: Keeping or Wearing a Vintage Watch
I guess I am a little odd but the funds I spend on some of my watches to me means that I need to keep them safe. Right now I have two safes dedicated to jewelry alone, one for watches and the other for everything else.

RE: Keeping or Wearing a Vintage Watch
I think it would be more of an occasional wear. My daily is not something that I wear out when I am roughing it on a hiking trial. Watches can get beat up if you are not careful and I would hate to waste the funds on something amazing only to watch it deteriorate quicker than it should, even with proper care.

RE: Keeping or Wearing a Vintage Watch
It depends on the kind of vintage watch that I will wear. If the watch costs more than I can afford to lose then I will keep it. If the watch can be replaced then I will use it but only for occasions.
