Changing Bands To Suit The Occasion
Do you have different bands to use for different occasions? I have a friend who do this and it saves him money because he doesn't have to buy different kinds of watches for different events.

That depends on the kind of watch you are wearing, but on a quality watch that has a good stainless steel bracelet then I can see no reason why you would need to change straps, although a friend of mine has an Omega seamaster which has an orange leather strap ..it matches the orange highlights on the watch face...and he also has a black leather strap that he changes over for formal occasions, however the problem is the wear and tear you give on the strap/pins and lugs due to changing the strap too much.

I agree, you can save money with having a lot of straps but you will spend that savings on fixing the pins. I'd rather buy another watch that will only be used on formal occasions.

I don't have anything quite like that, but it does sound like it would be nice to have. It sounds like a very versatile watch! How many bands does it actually come with?

Well, I think the idea to have different straps for different occasions is a good one, only that it should not be a substitute for getting several watches for yourself.

I don't currently have a watch that does this but I am extremely interested in finding one. I had started a conversation asking for advice on where to find one. I haven't found what I am looking for but I just love the idea.

My friend told me that the watch he got was a gift from his father. I have to ask that friend of mine what kind of watch is that so that you guys can have an idea on watch to buy.

Moreover, the idea of having multiple straps can actually be tasking. I always tell myself that getting several watches for different events is actually advisable. I am hoping to do this in the long run.

I saw an inexpensive watch at a store today that came with five or six interchangeable bands (it was cheap enough that I expect the bands were plastic); I would think there are some quality ones that are made similarly.

Good to know that there are watches with multiple bands. What about the process of changing the bands, is it hard? I find it hard to replace a band because of the small pin.
