Finding Parts of a Borken Vintage Watch

Is it hard to find parts of vintage watches? I know this is the job of the watch repairman but I'm curious how they the parts of old watches. Or do watches have the same parts no matter what year they were made?

I am not sure, how hard it is to find vintage watch parts. I just take my watch to a repair shop, and leave it up to them. I am curious if anyone has an answer to your question, too.
