Switch Watch Standard
As we are discussing that Swiss Made watches are of great quality, does it mean that Swiss Watches are the standard of watches in terms of quality?

RE: Switch Watch Standard
If by "standard" you mean the highest standard (as opposed to an average), I would say yes. I think all watches are compared to Swiss watches.

RE: Switch Watch Standard
I agree, with Time Keeper, Swiss does set the standard. Swiss watches are what other watches, wish they could be. Why else are there so many fake Swiss watches?

RE: Switch Watch Standard
I agree on your point about fake Swiss watches onthedot. What I'm thinking when I started this topic is that other countries, like France, Japan, The UK, or US, could have better watches than the Swiss watches. Or do these countries follow the standards set by Switzerland?

RE: Switch Watch Standard
Swiss watches were the first high quality watches, although they now have close competitors from other locations. The Swiss standard was set very high, though!

RE: Switch Watch Standard
I think the Swiss watches are the epitome of classy watches. My idea is that every watch is made relative or in reference to what the Swiss do.
Are the fake watches easily noticeable? |

RE: Switch Watch Standard
I think all fakes, including Swiss can be spotted if the person looking is paying attention to the detail and all authentic pieces involved. Just like art, watches are tricky when it comes to reproduction unless someone has a good amount of time and money on their hands to make it as best possible without actually making a real piece.
