The Art of Making Time
I have never been to a watch exhibit, but this one sounds quite exciting. Who would not want to go to an international showcase for Swiss watchmaking? The following is a quote from their website. http://www.geneva-time-exhibition.ch/mobile/

"A new visual identity... a new concept... a new venue... GTE’s third edition will see sweeping changes under the Fair's proud new banner: The Art of Making Time. GTE 2012 will confirm the Fair's key role in the prestige watch sector, with many top manufacturers among the fifty brands taking part. All will be presenting their finest timepiece collections to professionals and connoisseurs of mechanical watches from Sunday 15–Friday 20 January 2012."

That does sound nice. I have some time off that I will need to use by the end of January anyway, so maybe I should make a jaunt over to Geneva for a few days. Wink

RE: The Art of Making Time
I wish I could go there and see for myself how the watchmakers create a timepiece. I have to save money for the trip and I want a long vacation to visit other places in Switzerland.

RE: The Art of Making Time
Seems to me like Geneva and Switzerland is the place to be for anyone with a knack for watches. I would definitely want to attend a watch exhibit.

RE: The Art of Making Time
There have been a few in my area before but sometimes my work schedule interferes with my other hobbies. Right now I am trying to plan for the next family trip and I doubt I could talk the kids into something about watches, but it never hurts to try!

I would definitely want to be in such an exhibition. However, I have had to skip such events in the past for one reason or the other.

RE: The Art of Making Time
Watch-making is not really thought of very much, but when you see how watchmaking is done, you will be amazed. You have to have very good eyesight and steady hands to be able to do it.
