RE: help please
hi
LED watches are notoriously difficult to repair because usually the LED module is broken and the only possible fix is to replace the module. I've had dozens of old LED watches that were broke in the past and could manage to only repair a couple which had minor faults, the rest I had to bin...its because most LED watches break because of battery leak, where the battery has been left inside the watch and leaked onto the module and when this happens they are beyond repair...so if inside is going green and you left the battery in then I would assume its not worth fixing unless its a particularly good watch. I wouldn't say Optim was a sought after brand, but I think some models of this brand do have a day function which is quite rare, eg the LED has more segments and can display the day as in MO TU WE TH FR SA SU, but if the module is broken then that still can't be fixed, and even so I really can't see the watch having a great value and the cost of repairs because of time and parts probably wouldn't be worth it as watch itself is probably only worth £20-£30 in full working condition...although I'm sure in the next 10 years or so the value of this kind of watch is almost certain to rocket. If you still insist on having it repaired then would be better to find a specialist as a normal watch repairer won't have the parts and know how, and probably won't be able to find the problem and will end up just putting a new module in, so would recommend LED Watch Repairs although they are in Michigan USA so will probably cost you even more to ship and pay for return shipping, so overall the costs outweighs the value of the watch. If I were you I would just find a good secondhand LED watch on ebay and buy it, would work out a lot cheaper !! Unless it was a particulary good example then they are generally not worth repairing.... too much information to type to explain a good example, but that mostly that depends on brand such as Bulova, Pulsar etc, date the watch was made, what the watch is made from, condition and the overall style and look.
