RE: Another Newbie here
Finally fired up my camera to finish of pictures . The Van De B was first in the frame quickly followed by a recent purchase of a Seiko Premier Kinetic Moonphase bought to replace my 1980's version that I had stolen in 1990 . I had located the same version that was stolen and was about to buy then I clocked the "new" version so I weakened !

Amazing collection of watches, makes me embarrased to call myself a collector , as my best watch is a clapped out old omega constellation, square type with day and date, automatic chrongraph, its a nice watch but looking at your collection makes my collection look like something out of the rubbish dump !!!!! Thanks for the pictures.

Yes , the Constellation is quite a beast . It's purchase came about quite by accident . I had the AP Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph initially which stopped working after about 8 months so it went back to AP for a good seeing to . It stopped again 19 months later so it went back to AP ( now out of warranty ) and they advised it needed a service and that would be a mere £2500-00 !!!!!!!!

That was a real shock I can tell you . I tried several watch repair places but I kept getting the same response ...." AP won't supply spare parts to anyone " Over a barrel ...

Anyway , wandered back to the shop where I bought it from and came to a good deal on a trade in for it . I had seen the Constellation on the net and thought it looked the business . Trying to get hold of one to look at was a different matter . The store contacted Omega in Switzerland and they only had 2 available and would only ship it to the store if it was for a definite purchase . It was an easy decision .... get it shipped . It has performed very well indeed . As it has the Co-axial movement it will go longer between services and when the time comes it 'aint gonna cost anywhere near £2500-00 .
